What actually
happens at the curb

A mobile groom is not a shorter salon visit. It is a different shape of visit. Nobody sits in a crate waiting for a dryer to free up, because there is nobody else in the van.

01

The van pulls up

Ashley parks at the curb or in the driveway and knocks. You hand over the leash. That is the whole drop-off.

02

Bath and rinse

Warm water, a real tub with a hand sprayer, shampoo worked down to the skin and rinsed until the water runs clean.

03

Blow-out

Dried and brushed out at the same time, which is where the loose undercoat actually leaves the building instead of your rug.

04

Nails and ears

Nails taken back and smoothed, ears wiped out and checked. The two jobs owners most often put off, done every visit.

05

The trim

Breed trim, a tidy-up, or a short summer cut. Face, feet and sanitary area finished by hand with shears.

06

Back inside

Your dog goes straight from the van back through its own front door. No second car ride, no lobby, no pickup window.

Note

Why one dog at a time matters

In a shop, your dog waits for its turn in a crate, listens to other dogs, and gets handled by whoever is free. In the van the appointment is the whole day's attention for that hour. For a nervous dog or an old dog with bad hips, that is not a luxury detail. It is the reason the groom is possible at all.

Build your ticket

Tick what your dog needs. The ticket fills itself in, and you can send it straight to Ashley so she already knows what she is walking into. Nothing here is priced online, because coat, size and condition decide that. Ashley quotes it when she sees the dog.

Everything a shop has,
parked at your mailbox

A grooming van is not a bucket in the back of a car. It carries its own water, its own power, its own tub and its own table, which is why the appointment can happen on a street with no hose and no outlet.

Warm water on board

The van carries and heats its own water. No dragging a hose across the yard in February.

A table at the right height

Grooming happens standing up on a proper table, not bent over a bathtub. Better for the dog's joints and for the finish.

Quiet by design

No barking row of kennels, no phone at the front counter. For dogs that come home wrecked after a shop visit, the difference is obvious by the second appointment.

Who this is really for

Mobile grooming suits some households far better than others. It is worth knowing which one you are before you book.

  • The dog that panics at the shop

If the tail goes down in the parking lot, the problem is usually the building and the other dogs, not the grooming. Take the building away and a lot of that goes with it.

  • The old dog

Arthritic hips, poor eyesight, deaf, or just tired. A senior dog can manage one hour on a table beside its own house far better than a half day out.

  • The puppy learning what this is

First grooms set the tone for the next decade. A calm one-to-one hour with the same person is a much better first lesson than a busy shop floor.

  • The owner with no spare afternoon

No drop-off, no second trip back across town, no waiting on a call that says he is ready. You stay home. The appointment comes to the address.

  • Coats that need real drying

Doubles, curls and anything that mats. Those coats are made or ruined at the dryer, and the dryer is the step a rushed groom skips.

Stop 05 / The owner

Grooming with love and care.

That line is Ashley's own, and it is the whole operating instruction for the business. Ashley Riley owns and runs Ashley's Loving Touch Pet Grooming LLC out of Irondale. When you book, she is the person who answers, the person who drives, and the person with her hands on your dog. There is no rotating staff list to learn and no chance of being handed to somebody new.

That also means the schedule is finite. One dog per appointment and one van means the good slots go early, so it is worth calling ahead of the week you actually need.

Get on the route

Call or text with your dog's breed, rough size and where you are in the metro. If the van is already booked out, Ashley will tell you the next honest opening rather than squeeze you in badly.

Fastest way to reach the van. A text with a photo of the coat helps more than you would think.
